Flagstaff Gully Child Care Centre is leased by Phoenix Children’s Services from the Tasmanian Education Department and co-located on the TAFE Clarence Campus. Rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard, Flagstaff Gully Child Care Centre provides high quality early learning and care for up to 50 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years each day.
Whenever possible we try to accommodate the needs of TAFE students and staff, however our centre is available for all families needing child care. The centre sits within a bush-like landscape, and provides opportunities for natural exploration. We enjoy building relationships with the local community and our location between TasTAFE and an aged care facility and a school allows us to easily do this.
Flagstaff Gully Child Care Centre is managed by a Degree Qualified Early Childhood Educator and has a team of qualified and highly experienced and passionate educators. There are 3 groupings at Flagstaff Gully Child Care Centre. Children’s ages in January are used as a guide when placing children into one of these groups below.
Flagstaff Gully Child Care Centre stands in a place that was originally part of the lands of the Moomairremener People, a band of the Oyster Bay Tribe, who cared for and raised their children here for thousands of years.
Infant-Toddler Programs
Little Tots.
Up to 8 children aged 6 weeks to 18 months with 2 educators.
Family Room.
Up to 18 children aged 18 to 36 months with 4 educators.
Early Learning Program
Flagstaff Room.
Up to 24 children aged 3 to 5 years with 3 educators, including a degree qualified early childhood teacher.
Types of care available
- Full time: 5 days a week
- Part time: 1-4 days a week.
- Additional casual days are available to children who already attend any of our child care services.
Hours Of Operation
7:20am – 6:20pm – Monday to Friday
We are closed for the period between Christmas and New Year, there is no charge for this period.
We are also closed on Public Holidays and on the last working day before Christmas. No fee is charged for these days.
